Alison on location for
Shark Riddle.

Hair and makeup have been my passion since I was a child. My experience began with the portraits that I drew from my mother's Vouge magazines. All that shading, shaping, line and definition jumped off the page! After studying fashion design in college, my love for these art forms grew. I would sit in a salon all day when my mom went to get her hair done if they let me. One day the owner of the salon said why don't you go to beauty school? So I did, and so began my love affair with it all. From the very beginning I wanted to be right up there with the "super stars" of the business. I apprenticed with Toya Yoshimura (Yosh). Yosh helped inspire me to stay well educated and to never stop learning. The hours where long and precision cutting was the focus.

Eventually I went on to have many more mentors in my career and upon moving to the Northwest, began working in the film industry. Everything I had learned up to that point, seemed to prepare me for film. Creating characters, working with actors is a pure joy. I continue to seek out further education and supplement my skill sets.
